Dear colleagues!American Councils is pleased to announce beginning of the education programs in Ukraine

The program's goal is to support democratic initiatives and market reforms in Ukraine to create transparent civil society and develop skills among further leaders. The program is financed by the State Department and is conducted in the form of open competition. Knowledge of English is a necessary criterion for prospective applicants.

Muskie/FSA Graduate program is open for Ukrainian specialists who want to pursue further education on: business administration, economics, education, politics and environmental protection, international relations, mass media/journalism, law, library and informational services, public administration, health protection, policy making. The program foresees from one to two years of studying and pursuing Master's Degree. Since 1992 the program has given 661 scholarships to Ukrainian students. In 2002 100 specialists from Ukraine received scholarships.

American Council is kindly asking you to share this information. The contest for Muskie/FSA Graduate program was opened on September 2002 and is comprised of application, testing and interview. The deadline for application is October 25, 2002.

In September 2002 we plan to conduct a number of meetings in Ukraine with interested audience. We will gladly visit your organization and will make presentation of the program, give practical advice and recommendations on filling out the application.
