"The show of "wooden people"

On the night from Thursday to Friday somebody pasted leaflets on doorways addressed to pensioners. They were invited to come to the Palace of Youth with passports and promised that "Nasha Ukraina"s leader Viktor Yushchenko would give them 165 UAH.

I saw these freezing old men standed under Palace of Youth. Somebody heartlessly betrayed them again with one purpose - to ruin the Forum of democratic forces with Viktor Yushchenko and his colleagues. The plan was that hungry old men would come and take by storm a hall, where the Forum would be held. But old men were waiting in the street like lambs…
At the square near Palace students were freezing under anti-yushchenko posters. They were taken here like lambs. Somebody heartless didn't think that they are people too and could have their own opinion. Boys were supplied by police whistles and had to whistle to muffly Ivan Plushch's, Viktor Yushchenko's, Volodymyr,'s Seretovych, Volodymyr Javorivskyy's speeches..."Guys, what organization do you represent?"-"We're by ourselfs" They drew aside their eyes and heads when they were photographed. They were ashamed.
But army-guys, who unloaded antiyushchenko-posters weren't ashamed, they didn't draw aside their eyes. Strong men, who arrived on "Mercedes" extorted camera from journalist's hands and spoiled a film. After that they threatened. Interesting, how could "Mercedes" arrive to the square if vehicular traffic was prohibited? There were also many police-officers and civilian-dressed people with keen eyes.
Delegates from districts said, that police tried not to allow buses come to Kherson. Delegation from Genychesk couldn't burst their cordons...
In the hall there were many people with beforehand prepared notes, printed or handwritten.
They delivered their notes to the stage and went out. They weren't interested in answers.
One and a half thousand people were trying to get into the hall, but the doors to the balcony were closed. One part of Palace of Youth's employees told that there were construction works being done, others - that keys were lost. People, who arrived to the Forum from hundreds of kilometers away didn't believe and broke the lock, there weren't any construction works.
After such a lawlessness, meanness and falce we wanted one thing: those, who the Authorities were fighting against, whi they are so histerically afraid of - we wanted them to win.
Apotheosis was a pig, that was let out in front of Palace. Unlucky animal chirped and was droven from place to place by police. Why? It isn't clear.
Why is opposition so terrible and for whom? What should be "whistled" by police whistles so that people wouldn't hear anything?
The fact that the list of the reachest people of Ukraine is headed by non-businessmen but by State workers, who stealed national wealth?
The fact that pension in Ukraine is 9 $, while in Belarus it's 27$ and in Russia - 23? The fact that every 3-rd pensioner has now only 40% from living minimal wage because of State politic?
The astonishing fact is that even in Azerbaijan, that lost the war with Armenia, wages are higher than we have?
The leader of "Nasha Ukraina" told, that 13 years ago German Bundesbank forecasted, that our country could become one of the reachest countries in West Europe. Instead of this from 48 millions of citizens of Ukraine 1,2 millions are mentally deseased, 740 thousands - oncodeseased, 720 thousands are alcoholics, 550 thousands have AIDS, 680 thousands have tuberculosis. It's clear that someone didn't want us to hear that every quarter quantity of Ukraine's population decreases on 120 thousands of people. Because after that it's very easy to make conclusion, that heads of State, the reachests people of the country, led nation to a dying out.
Those who made this "show" at the square in front of Palace of Youth justify their actions: "we've had instruction from the top-management, we're state workers and should do that".

True, producers of this "show" aren't from Kherson. In Internet there is an article about the Forum of democratic forces on 24 of October in Byla Tserkva - there were the same untalanted posters, and police blocked all traffic the same way, afraid that pigs would ran out of the square…
As to the argument: "we are state workers and by the law should carry out guidelines of the top-management" there is a citation of philosophy's classic: "…A majority serves the State such a way: not as people but as machines, by their bodies. They consist of constant army, police, warders, serve as witnesses to sheriff ets. In both of ocassions they shouldn't use intellect or morality: they are such a tree, earth and stones; maybe it'll be possible to construct wooden people, who won't be not less useful. Such people arise respect not more than a straw scarecrow or clay idols. They cost not more than horses or dogs. But exactly they are usually called good citizens. Others, such as majority of legislative establishment, politicians, legislators, priests and officials serve the State by their braines; and as they rarely can see moral differences so could serve both for devil, and for God. Only a few of them - heroes, patriots, martyrs, reformers in some sense real people serve the State by their conscience, that's why resist the State, and it and it usually considers them as enemies"…
It was said by Henry Toro in his work "About civil disobedience" back in 1849.
